I do not usually publish ‘stay tuned’ alerts on this blog, but this time I must. I am working on a post that has me truly excited, because it features an individual whose work has been a primary source of inspiration for me for many years.
While I was studying mental health counseling at Cleveland State University, this person’s ground-breaking television series helped to stir up discontent with the path I was walking. The images of unbridled nature within them, far from the meaningless tedium of suburbia, reminded me of the indescribable freedom I had felt in natural places.
In other words, his shows kept me true to who I was.
I will not reveal who I am referring to, because that is not how one generates proper hype. However, all will be revealed shortly.

I know people who’ve inspired me. They are just average people in the eyes of the world, but I find their life histories fascinating. I’d love to write about them, but I’m not sure how to broach the subject. How do you introduce the idea, “I’d like to write about you?”

Well, normally I just ask people straight up if I can do a post about them. However, in this case I found a way to tie the post into a project or two that this individual is working on. So I’m not just writing about them, I’m also helping to promote their work.
