I have just received an exciting notification from the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD). A male jaguar was recently photographed near Fort Huachuca, which is a United States Army base in southeastern Arizona. While it is still too early to tell, the AZGFD’s press release indicates that this could be a jaguar who has not been seen in the U.S. before.

More work needs to be done to determine if this is indeed the case. If this is a new jaguar, it would be certainly be exciting. Even if it is El Jefe, the jaguar who currently resides in Arizona, then it is still important news. El Jefe has not been seen for quite some time, so his reappearance near Fort Huachuca would be welcome.

I will be sure to share more information about this potentially new jaguar when it is released. It would also be worthwhile to visit this link and sign up for E-News from the AZGFD. That way you will get their notifications directly.

P. S. I will likely not be able to make my important announcement until next week. I had hoped to have it ready sooner, but since it is the end of the semester I am quite busy.

    1. No, the one that’s been photographed is an adult mail. The featured image in this post is not of the jag who’s been spotted, because I don’t have the rights to any of those photos. You can follow the link at the bottom of the post to see the pictures of the potentially new jag.
