Greetings friends, I have exciting updates to share with you.
First of all, I want to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone who has contributed to my GoFundMe campaign. For those who are not aware, on January 9 I launched a campaign to help raise money for my Master’s research. I have an opportunity to study people’s beliefs about jaguars (Panthera onca) in the South American country of Guyana, but I do not have much time to find funding. I also want to get the public involved in my work, and crowdfunding platforms like GoFundMe give me an excellent chance to do so.
In just 20 days we have raised $1,425. This is remarkable progress, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has lent their support. I want to extend a special thank you to Robert Goldstein, for the help he has given me in publicizing my campaign. But there is still a long way to go before I reach my goal of $10,000. In addition, I have recently learned that I will have to pay much more for research assistants and local guides than I thought. Therefore it is more important than ever that I reach my goal.
So I implore you: please visit my GoFundMe campaign and help me raise the money I need to conduct my research. No donation is too small, and sharing my campaign on social media is another great way to help.

Also, later this week I will be releasing what could be my most important post yet. It contains vital information about a serious threat to mountain lions (Puma concolor) and other animals in Northern California – specifically in Humboldt County. This is an issue that desperately needs more attention, so please keep an eye on your notifications (subscribing to my blog via email is the best way to do so).
To summarize, please continue to support and share my GoFundMe campaign; I cannot conduct my Master’s research without your help. Second, in a few days I will be publishing a crucial post about what could be a grave threat to Humboldt County’s mountain lions. The issue I will be writing about deserves more publicity, so I sincerely hope you will read it.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has visited my blog and contributed to my GoFundMe campaign. Your support means the world to me.
